Recent Work: Online Community College Courses

March 8, 2015 by Rhys Ludlow

Last Summer (2014), we had the opportunity to put our educational video expertise to good use by shooting and editing two college courses for the College of San Mateo. These videos are part of their XL Online program, a new project aimed at creating more dynamic and engaging online college courses. For this first set, we shot a Health course and an Intro to Chemistry course, both general education courses with very high enrollment.

Broadcast Quality

February 6, 2015 by Rhys Ludlow

What is “Broadcast Quality“?
This is a term that almost always had an ambiguous meaning but seems completely irrelevant today.

Even while they broadcast nearly all of their afternoon programming off tape-delayed playback from 3/4″ U-Matic Cassettes (the format of choice for indie producers). As new technology developed, the bar was raised as a barrier to entry.

At the time there existed a few valid technical specifications [Read more…]

Interactive Video Production

April 24, 2014 by Rhys Ludlow

We recently discovered a tool called Vidzor and it got us excited again about interactive video production. We did some interactive E-learning a few years ago and the programming was fairly arduous. Now with new tools like Vidzor it’s fairly easy to create interactive content. We tossed this together in a few hours and it’s functional!

Vidzor is still in Beta and some fine tuning of fonts and positioning still need to be refined but we are very excited and hope someone will bring us an opportunity to work on an interactive video project. The video above contains a description of Vidzor, an example of that interactive E-learning project we produced and an example of how branching content can be used in marketing.

Vidzor also has some example on their site http://vidzor.com/
